Get set for the greatest wildflower show on Earth

Environment Minister Stephen Dawson has today officially launched the 2018 Kings Park Festival, which will feature wildflowers from around the State and a massive program of festival events.

The Kings Park Festival will present 'The Greatest Show on Earth' from September 1 to 30, with free guided walks and talks, outdoor exhibitions, Sunday strolls with the Adorable Florable wildflower characters, and beautiful gardens on show.

Festival highlights include new outdoor wellness events including meditation, yoga and tai chi; and an outdoor photography exhibition by renowned WA nature photographer David Bettini, celebrating the remarkable landscapes of Western Australia.

The festival is proudly presented by Kings Park and Botanic Garden and the Friends of Kings Park, with the generous support of Lotterywest.

As stated by Environment Minister Stephen Dawson:

"The Kings Park Festival is a wonderful celebration of Western Australia's extraordinary wildflowers, and of our Western Australian community. It encourages people from all walks of life to visit and enjoy the park, with positive benefits for their health and wellbeing, sense of community and appreciation for the environment.

"This month in Kings Park, we will see more than 100 free guided walks and talks to celebrate the wildflower season; 1,500 WA primary school students celebrating environmental sustainability and Noongar culture at the Djilba Festival for schools; and thousands of healthy plants for sale at the Friends of Kings Park native plant sale.

"I am delighted to see the 55th Kings Park Festival get underway, attracting local people and visitors from around the world."
