Gloucester District Park Will Get Tails Wagging

MidCoast Council

Gloucester is getting a brand new fenced off-leash dog park for local pups to play, explore and burn off energy!

Covering around 2,300m², the park will feature two separate zones for large and small dogs, along with water stations, agility equipment, and shade trees to keep everyone comfortable.

The new facility will sit within the existing off‑leash area at Gloucester District Park.

Construction is scheduled to begin in late February, with completion expected by the end of March, weather permitting.

The park has been developed using feedback from previous community engagement projects, including the Open Space and Recreation Strategy.

Gloucester Lions Club have been instrumental to this project and have worked closely with Council to develop the concept, identify the site, get feedback from Gloucester dog owners and will be working with Gloucester Men's Shed on the construction of the dog agility equipment and other facilities in the park.

Funding for the project comes from the Duralie Community Infrastructure Contributions program.
