Grants announcement-Supporting research endeavours to commence in 2021

Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Research Council (ARC), Professor Sue Thomas, has welcomed the approval by the Australian Government of ARC grants projects with funding to commence in 2021 through a number of ARC grants schemes.

Australian universities will receive $38.8 million in funding for 47 projects to develop important infrastructure, equipment and facilities to help researchers conduct world-class research that will address challenges in areas including astronomy, biology and security through the ARC Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) scheme.

The Australian Government also approved one project to be funded through the ARC's Linkage Projects scheme ($419,000) and twelve Discovery Projects grants projects (Total $4.8m).

"Quality research and research infrastructure is critical to Australia's research and development system - and necessary to deliver high quality research and innovation outcomes and to enable Australian researchers to address key national and global challenges," Professor Thomas said.

Details for all funded projects for the Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities; Discovery Projects; and Linkage Projects schemes are now available on the ARC website.
