Nillumbik residents, community groups and local organisers can now apply for grants to deliver events, activations and festive celebrations in 2026-2027, bringing local places to life.
These grants support projects, events and activities that bring people together, strengthen community connections and activate public spaces across Nillumbik, creating thriving places and stronger communities.
Festive Fund Grants offer up to $2000 for festive activities and events that add colour, creativity and community spirit to public spaces. Eligible projects may include Christmas markets, carols, community celebrations, workshops, performances, public art and festive displays.
Place Activation Grants provide up to $4000 for innovative projects that encourage people to spend more time in local public spaces. Activities may include community events, creative activations and temporary projects that strengthen local identity, foster connection and support thriving town centres.
Mayor Cr Naomi Joiner said the grants empower local people to shape places they love and care about, that reflect the needs and character of our communities.
"By supporting local initiatives, we're investing in the people who help make Nillumbik's townships and neighbourhoods vibrant, welcoming and connected"
Council encourages applications that build partnerships, respond to community needs and create benefits that extend beyond the life of the grant.
Applications for both grant programs close on Sunday 30 August 2026.
