Greater Darwin and surrounding areas
The boil water alert for Greater Darwin and surrounding areas has been cancelled, effective immediately.
Power and Water Corporation has verified test results, showing that the water is free from E. coli or any harmful bacteria.
The Chief Health Officer has advised the water in these areas is safe to drink and boiling is no longer required.
Katherine boil water alert
The boil water alert for Katherine remains in place.
Power and Water is undertaking repairs to the sewerage network, which may impact water quality.
Once repairs are complete and water quality testing indicates the water is safe to drink, the boil water alert may be cancelled shortly after.
If any harmful bacteria is detected, including the presence of E. coli, additional testing will be required. New samples will need to be collected and analysed, which would take up to 24 hours to complete.
Public health safety remains the priority, and the alert will only be lifted when the Chief Health Officer is confident the water supply is safe to drink.
Katherine residents should continue to boil tap water before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or preparing food.
Jilkminggan boil water alert
The Chief Health Officer has issued a boil water alert for Jilkminggan, effective immediately.
Due to heavy rainfall and flooding in the Big Rivers area, the water supply may be impacted.
NT Health is requesting people in Jilkminggan use cooled, boiled water or bottled water as a precaution for:

The boil water alert will remain in place until water quality test results indicate water is safe to drink.
