Grievous bodily harm in Crestmead, QLD

Detectives have charged a man following an alleged serious assault in Crestmead early yesterday morning which has left a man with life-threatening injuries, Queensland Police say.

Around 6.30am, a 21-year-old man attended a Satinwood Street address where it will be alleged he assaulted a 19-year-old man with a metal vase.

The victim sustained serious injuries to the face and head as a result of the alleged attack.

It will then be alleged the man assaulted a woman also inside the residence at the time before damaging the victim’s vehicle and mobile phone.

The victim was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

A crime scene was established with detectives expected to return to the residence this morning as part of their investigations.

A 21-year-old Waterford West man has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm and two counts of wilful damage.

He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court later today.
