Griffith Base Hospital Opens New Carpark and Entry

NSW Gov

A new carpark and main entry to the new Griffith Base Hospital is set to open next week, providing patients, staff and visitors in the region with more convenient access to the new hospital.

From Tuesday, 17 March, the Griffith community will have direct access to the Emergency Department (ED) and Main Entry, delivered as part of the final stages of the $250 million Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment.

The community will also benefit from improved and more accessible onsite parking near the new hospital's main entrance and ED that has dedicated drop-off zones, disability parking and accessible parking for patients with limited mobility.

Commencing 17 March, the main driveway will be closed temporarily and public access to the hospital car park will be via Gate 7 on Noorebar Avenue. Changes to the existing main carpark will also take effect to improve traffic flow.

Patients and visitors will access the hospital via the new Main Entry instead of the temporary tunnel route through the old hospital. Signage is in place to assist drivers and pedestrians accessing the hospital.

Construction is progressing across the campus including work to complete the final stage of the new carpark, as well as the hospital forecourt and landscaping. A refurbishment of the Ambulatory Care Hub is also nearing completion and is expected to open next month.

The Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment remains on track for completion in 2026, following the opening of the new hospital building in June last year.
