Griffith Community to Vote on CBD Landscape Designs

The community is invited to have its final say on proposed landscape designs for Griffith's CBD roundabouts and median strips, with Griffith City Council placing the plans on public exhibition before they are finalised.

The landscaping forms part of Council's CBD Enhancement Project, funded through the NSW Government's Sustainable Communities Program, and aims to create a more attractive, welcoming and functional city centre.

Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said the detailed designs had been developed using community feedback received earlier this year.

"Council received valuable feedback on three preliminary landscape concepts, which has helped shape these designs," Mayor Curran said.

"We're now asking the community to review the plans one final time and let us know if we've got the balance right before they are finalised."

Following the initial consultation, Council worked with a landscape architecture firm and its Roads, Parks and Pathways Enhancements Committee to develop designs that reflect community priorities while considering sustainability, maintenance and long-term practicality. The community is encouraged to review the designs and give feedback on priority areas to be upgraded within the design. Costs associated with the full concept upgrade may mean a staged approach is undertaken.

Mayor Curran encouraged residents to review the designs and provide feedback on the proposed staging and priority areas.

Feedback will be considered before the final landscape documentation is completed. The proposed designs can be viewed and submissions made at connect.griffith.nsw.gov.au, with submissions closing at 4pm on Wednesday, 9 September 2026.
