Healthy Honour for Central Australian Health Service

The Central Australia Health Service (CAHS) has been accredited to Australias highest benchmark of health care standards by the team from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).

The ACHS is the accreditation agency with the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and is authorised to accredit healthcare organisations to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS).

The Standards focus primarily on good governance, consumer participation, infection control, medications, patient ID and handovers, blood management, pressure injuries, clinical deterioration and falls.

Comment from Minster for Health, Natasha Fyles:

Territorians deserve access to the best health services and this accreditation highlights the excellent work that is being accomplished by our dedicated staff at the Central Australia Health Service.

Accreditation for three more years is a major achievement and a clear demonstration that the Central Australia Health Service provides a service that the community can trust and be proud of.

I would like to thank all staff, clinical and non-clinical at CAHS for their commitment to safety and improving health outcomes.

Comment from CAHS Chief Operating Officer Sue Korner:

At CAHS we know accreditation is about embedding best practice and patient-centred care, and this recognition is evidence that we strive for excellence and better health outcomes.

Our local community members can be guaranteed that heath is our top priority and you are in secure hands with the Central Australia Health Service.
