About 2.05am, a silver Toyota Camry Sedan was travelling on Jon Sanders Drive when approximately 500m south of Parkland Road, the vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle which caught fire. Officers from Scarborough Police were first on the scene and extracted the driver. Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel were able to extinguish the flames.
The male driver - a 23-year-old man - sustained serious injuries and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment.
