Police have fined a green P plate driver for travelling more than double the speed limit in a residential area of Banksia Beach during wet weather.
Just after 9.30pm on Wednesday 27 May, officers from Moreton North Highway Patrol intercepted a white Hyundai I30 on Sunderland Drive.
It's alleged the vehicle was travelling 111 kilometres an hour in a 50 zone.
A 19-year-old Banksia Beach man was fined $1919 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 40km/h, and his licence was suspended for six months.
Officer in Charge of Moreton Highway Patrol Senior Sergeant Malcolm Lilley said there is no excuse for this type of behaviour on our roads, and you can expect police anywhere, anytime.
