Highlands Road Reopens After Rain Damage

Highlands Road has reopened to traffic between Dropmore Road and Ghin Ghin Road after repair works following significant rainfall earlier this month.

The road, located just short of the Murrindindi Shire boundary, was closed after the condition of the road deteriorated while Council and contractors were carrying out repairs to a damaged culvert. The deterioration made it unsafe for vehicles to pass, requiring a full closure while emergency repairs were undertaken.

The road has now reopened under traffic management, with traffic reduced to a single lane.

Speed restrictions and traffic management will remain in place while Council continues to monitor the site to ensure the road remains safe.

Drivers are asked to slow down, follow all traffic management signage and take extra care when travelling through the area.

Council thanks the community for its patience while repairs were carried out.
