Highway blocked after fatal crash, NSW

A driver has died and the Sturt Highway is closed at Narrandera.

About 7:30am today (Friday 15 February 2019), police and emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash about 16km west of Narrandera.

The Sturt Highway is currently closed in both directions while emergency services deal with the incident.

The crash is believed to involve a heavy vehicle and a car.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted at Kidman Way in Darling Point and can travel via Whitton-Darlington Road to Whitton then Benerembah Street, Binyah Street, Whitton Road and Canal Street to Leeton, Binya Street to Yanko, then Irrigation Way and the Newell Highway to Narrandera to re-join the Sturt Highway.

The westbound diversion is the same in reverse.
