Historic building fire at Camden

Emergency service are currently at the scene of a fire threatening to damage a historic building in Camden.

About 3.10am today (Friday 18 September 2020), officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were patrolling Argyle Street when they noticed a fire at the historic building.

The two-storey building is used by several businesses including a restaurant on the upper level.

Fire and Rescue NSW are currently at the scene and attempting to extinguish the blaze.

It is not believed anyone is inside the building.

Argyle Street is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between John Street and Elizabeth Street.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.
