Hodgman Liberal Government has no plan to improve infrastructure

Tasmanian Labor

· Government has no plan, no vision and no idea about infrastructure

· Tasmanians fed up with traffic congestion and deserve better

Shadow Minister for Roads and Infrastructure, David O'Byrne, said the Hodgman Liberal Government has no plan and no vision to improve infrastructure in this state.

"At the last election, the Liberal Party announced with great fanfare and glossy images a commitment to build an underground bus mall in Hobart," Mr O'Byrne said.

"Now after five years of inaction, they announce a feasibility study for a dedicated bus transit centre to see whether it should be above or below ground.

"This is incompetence. After five long years and growing traffic congestion, it is clear that this Government has no plan, no vision and no idea.

"The Hodgman Liberal Government's track record on infrastructure in Tasmania is woeful. In 2014, they announced an upgrade to the airport roundabout but here it is in May 2019 and they are yet to start it.

"Tasmanians are fed up with traffic congestion and deserve better."
