Oran Park has hit a home run after welcoming a brand-new baseball facility on O'Keefe Drive.

The facility, which includes a full-size competition baseball field and an amenities building, has more than 100 parking spaces, including four disability spaces. It was officially opened to the public at an event on the weekend and continued to host the games of the Mets Baseball Club Inc.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said the facility had provisions for two more minor fields that could be delivered as the sport grows.

"This new facility is an amazing addition to the Camden area and will no doubt enhance our community's access to amazing sporting amenities and options," Cr Cagney said.

"It will provide a modern and inclusive space for residents - whether you're a sports enthusiast or are just looking to enjoy the day as a family, it's definitely one to check out.

"We're so lucky to have a wealth of amazing sporting and recreational facilities right at our doorstep in Camden. Whether you're cooling down at Dawson-Damer Water Play Space, playing soccer at Doohan Reserve or Nott Oval, playing basketball at Julia Reserve Youth Precinct or playing cricket at Onslow Park, we have some truly amazing locations."

Mick Owens, Greenfields Development Company's (GDC) General Manager, said the $8.1 million Oran Park Baseball Facility had been delivered by GDC with partial funding support from Camden Council.

"We're proud to have delivered another fantastic community facility in Oran Park and one that meets the diverse sporting needs of the community," he said

"This is a modern, high-quality, competition-level facility with potential to grow as demand for the sport grows. It's co-location with Barramurra Public School provides great benefits for both park users and the school community."

The new facility has been delivered by GDC as part of the Oran Park South Planning Agreement.
