Homicide investigation after discovery of woman's body, NSW

Police have launched a homicide investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in a park on Sydney’s north shore this morning, NSW Police say.

About 7.30am (Wednesday 3 October 2018), police were called to Pittwater Road, Hunters Hill, after a body was found by a council worker in Buffalo Creek Reserve.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command established a crime scene, with specialist police forensically examining the scene.

Investigators have confirmed that the body is a woman, who is yet to be formally identified.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted in the coming days to determine how the woman died.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad are assisting Ryde Police Area Command with their inquiries into the suspicious death.

Police are speaking with witnesses in the area to piece together the events leading up to the incident.

As inquiries are continuing, officers are calling for anyone who attended the park or anyone that travelled along Pittwater Road, late yesterday through to this morning, with dash-cam footage to come forward.
