Homicide Investigation At Coolangatta

Police have charged a 27-year-old man following the death of a man in Coolangatta yesterday, 23 October.

Around 1.05pm, members of the public on Dutton Street contacted police concerning the behaviour of a man in his 20s who left the scene prior to police arrival.

Police attended an address on Dutton Street where a 57-year-old Coolangatta man was located deceased with stab wounds.

Police tracked the man in his 20s to Upper Coomera where he was taken into custody at 2.04pm.

A 27-year-old Coolangatta man has been charged with one count of murder and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today, 24 October.

Anyone with information or footage of the area that could assist, is urged to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
