Ipswich detectives have commenced a homicide investigation following the death of a man in Gailes this afternoon.
At 4pm, police were called to an Old Logan Road address after reports of a serious wounding.
Upon arrival, police located a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to this chest.
Police immediately rendered first-aid however the man was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A crime scene has been declared and detectives are seeking anyone that has any information about the incident to contact police.
