Homicide Investigation, Marsden

A man has died and a homicide investigation is underway following a domestic violence related incident at Marsden this morning, June 13.

At approximately 1am, police were called to a property along Redwood Street following reports a serious assault had occurred.

Upon arrival, police arrested a 30-year-old Marsden man and he is assisting police with inquiries.

A short time later, a 67-year-old Marsden man was located deceased in the backyard.

A 60-year-old Marsden woman was also located at the property and was not physically injured.

The three people are believed to be known to each other.

A crime scene has been declared while officers work to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
