About 3.10pm, emergency services were called to a residence on Burville Street following reports of an unresponsive woman. A 69-year-old woman was located deceased inside, while a 50-year-old man, who police believe was known to the woman, was located with life-threatening injuries. He was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital but passed away from his injuries.
Detectives believe a weapon may have been discarded after the incident, and despite extensive and thorough investigative efforts, this item has not been located.
As inquiries remain ongoing, detectives are specifically asking Spencer Park community members to search their front and back yards, gardens, sheds, bins and outdoor areas for any item that appears out of place, or any object that may be relevant to the investigation. If you locate anything unusual, please contact police immediately.
Detectives have established a mobile police facility located at Spencer Park shopping centre on Hardie Road to assist the community in coming forward with information.
