Homicide Squad investigate Dandenong death

Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for information following the death of a man in Dandenong last night.

The appeal for information follows the discovery of a man's body in a car crashed into a pole in Dawn Avenue on Sunday 3 March about 9.55pm.

Attending members found the man, believed to be aged in his 50s, unresponsive and suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

The Homicide Squad is treating the incident as targeted and at this early stage do not believe there is any link to the Kensington shooting of three men on Friday night.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Dawn Avenue, Dandenong during the evening of Sunday 3 March who may have dash cam footage.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
