Hopes still buoyant after wipe out

Shoalhaven Water's loss to Mackay Council in the Water of Origin competition is still sinking in. Representing NSW/ACT, Shoalhaven Water narrowly lost out (1 vote to 2) to Queensland in the annual competition between the two states to see who has the best tasting tap water.

Executive Manager, Rob Horner, said despite the disappointing loss it's just water under the bridge, we have bigger fish to fry.

"Earlier this year we won the best tasting tap water in NSW and the ACT," said Rob.

"Our Water Operations staff are extremely passionate about delivering high quality drinking water to the Shoalhaven community and they will not take the defeat against Mackay lightly."

Rob said Shoalhaven Water's hopes of another win in 2022 had not gone down the drain, with an opportunity for revenge in the national competition to be held in Casino, NSW.

"In November we'll be competing against all the state winners in the hope of taking out Australia's best tasting tap water accolade," said Rob.

"This loss has not dampened our spirits, it's actually made us thirstier for the biggest prize.

"Taking out the national competition is more than a pipe dream, we're in with a real chance."
