New kindergarten and pre-primary facilities at Illawarra Primary School have now been completed, providing students with modern learning and play areas.
The $2.5 million project includes two kindergarten and pre-primary classrooms, kitchen facilities, toilets, an assisted access toilet and storage spaces.
Other works include new play equipment and landscaping.
The new permanent building has replaced an existing transportable classroom at the site.
The facilities were designed by Zuideveld Marchant Hur Architects and were constructed by LKS Constructions WA.
It forms part of the Cook Government's record investment of $5.4 billion in education infrastructure since 2017.
As stated by Education Minister Sabine Winton:
"I'm pleased this project has been completed offering outstanding modern facilities for staff and students at Illawarra Primary School.
"I'm sure families are equally excited with the building and outdoor area to support the development of young students.
"Our government is committed to providing the best possible learning environments for Western Australian students so they can thrive."
As stated by West Swan MLA Rita Saffioti:
"It's fantastic to see these brand new facilities delivered for local families.
"I know how important Illawarra Primary School is to our local community, and this new kindergarten and pre-primary area will make a real difference for young children starting their education here."
