The International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for Japan will conduct a workshop titled "Business and Human Rights and Applications in University Education" for university faculty members on Monday, 12 January 2026, in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture. This initiative aims to empower educators to equip future business leaders and businesspersons with the knowledge and practices necessary for responsible business operations.
In response to changing global economic and trade patterns, the ILO emphasizes the importance of establishing fair and resilient supply chains to promote decent work and inclusive economic growth. This training will focus on essential concepts such as "responsible business conduct" and "human rights due diligence," which are crucial for ensuring respect for human and workers' rights throughout a company's value chain.
Participants will gain insights into key topics related to workers' rights and explore methodologies for integrating these themes into university curricula. The training program will be conducted in English and is targeted at educators in fields such as international relations, development studies, management, law, and other interested disciplines.
An optional follow-up session for attendees is scheduled for Saturday, 31 January 2026. Both the workshop and the follow-up session will be conducted in English.
We look forward to your participation.
