Image released as police investigate $42,000 worth of damaged cars at Tamworth

Police have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries after 32 vehicles were damaged in two separate incidents in Tamworth at the weekend.

Just before midnight on Sunday 26 September 2021, a man forced entry into a luxury vehicle car yard on Marius Street, Tamworth.

While inside, the man deflated the tyres of 17 vehicles, causing nearly $30,000 worth of damage.

He then left the area and was last seen heading towards Hill Street.

In a separate incident, between 11pm on Saturday 25 September 2021 and 9.30am on Sunday 26 September 2021, police were notified that 15 vehicles parked at a carpark on Scarborough Close, Tamworth, had been damaged.

Inquiries indicate the tyres had been punctured and deflated with a sharp object, causing $12,000 worth of damage.

Officers from Oxley Police District are investigating the incidents, which are believed to be linked, and have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with investigations.

The man depicted in the image is described as wearing long black pants with white stripes on the sides, an orange and black beanie, a grey jumper, a long necklace with a crucifix and a blue and white face mask. He is not wearing shoes.
