With the Secondary School Vaccine Program for all Year 7 and 10 students set to begin in March, Council's Public Health Team is reminding parents and guardians to send back signed immunisation consent cards as soon as possible.
Council's Coordinator Public Health and Regulatory Services Kelsey Corrie said it was important for parents and guardians to send back the signed consent cards to ensure their child did not miss out.
"Students have been provided consent cards at school to take home for their parents to complete, sign and return to the school," she said.
"Consent cards must be sent back to the school if you are consenting yes or declining the vaccinations."
The vaccines being offered are free of charge to secondary students as part of the National Immunisation Program.
Year 7 students are being offered the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine and a combined diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough vaccine (Boostrix). Year 10 students are being offered the Meningococcal ACWY vaccine.
"Detailed information on the vaccines is provided in a booklet for parents along with the immunisation consent forms," Ms Corrie added.
Consent cards can be returned to the student's school or directly to Council offices in Swan Hill and Robinvale.
