Impersonating a Police Officer arrest, WA

Around 12.30am this morning (24 August 2018), Police were called to a serviced apartment complex located on Great Eastern Highway in Ascot after it was reported a person was seen with a firearm.

It will be alleged the man told staff he was a Police Officer. , WA Police say

Officers from Cannington Detectives conducted a search of the man’s room and his vehicle. It will be alleged Detectives located and seized an unlicensed firearm, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of Methylamphetamine.

The 54-year-old man from Wanneroo has been charged with:-

•Impersonating a Public Officer;

•Carries or Possesses a Controlled Weapon;

•Possessed any Drug Paraphernalia in or on which there was a Prohibited Drug; and

•Possess a Prohibited Drug.

The man is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 21 September 2018.

A 49-year-old woman from Forrestdale who was with the man will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date on drug related offences.
