The Cook Government has engaged ADCO Constructions (ADCO) under the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process to commence design for the Graylands Campus Project.
TheGraylandsCampus Project will transform and expand forensic mental health services inWestern Australia. The project willdeliver:
- 32 new sub-acute male forensic mental health beds;
- an eight-bed child and adolescent forensic mental health unit; and
- an Integrated Patient Services and Rehabilitation Centre (Hub).
The child and adolescent forensic mental health unit will be the first of its kind in Western Australia and will provide vulnerable young people who interact with the justice system with specialist care in a safe, therapeutic environment.
The establishment ofadditionalforensic mental health beds will support the provision of care to meet demand across the State, ensuring thatappropriate carecan be accessed by consumers when they most need it, and improving patient flow by creating a continuum of care.
In addition, the Cook Government has allocated $10.6 million to relocate Western Australia's largest horseriding school catering for people with disabilities, Claremont Therapeutic Riding Centre (CTRC).
This funding will be used torelocatethe CTRC to a new facility at 9 John XXIII Avenue, Mount Claremont, opposite theGraylandsHospital site.
Contractor procurement is underway, with theaimof transitioning the CTRC to the new facility in 2027, ahead of the scheduled start date of the sitework. The CTRC provides important therapeutic and recreation services for people with disability in Western Australia.
