Individual fined $2,664 for alleged unlawful advertising in relation to Covid

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has issued one infringement notice totalling $2,664 to a Queensland based individual for alleged unlawful advertising of therapeutic goods in relation to COVID-19.

Any representation made in the advertising of therapeutic goods which refers to COVID-19 (explicit or implied) is a 'restricted representation' and cannot be used without prior approval from the TGA. The TGA has issued a warning about illegal advertising relating to COVID-19.

If you suspect non-compliance in relation to therapeutic goods, you can report illegal or questionable practices online to the TGA.

The TGA encourages the reporting of suspected non-compliant advertising.
