Innovative Biodiversity Monitoring grants awarded

We are funding $8 million in projects delivering innovative solutions for lower-cost biodiversity monitoring under the Innovative Biodiversity Monitoring grants.

Grants have been awarded to:

  • Australian National University
  • University of Tasmania
  • Australian Museum
  • University of New South Wales
  • World Wide Fund for Nature Australia
  • Australian Wildlife Conservancy
  • CSIRO
  • Indigenous Desert Alliance
  • Charles Darwin University
  • University of New England
  • University of Queensland
  • Watergum Community Inc.

The grants support the establishment of the Nature Repair Market and will support the integrity of market outcomes.

Projects funded by these grants will:

  • provide innovative biodiversity baseline assessment and monitoring technologies and approaches for use in the Nature Repair Market
  • support confidence in the integrity of the market
  • lower the costs of project monitoring
  • deliver a range of monitoring technologies and approaches for use across Australia.
