Inquiries underway into fire at Sydney Olympic Park

Police are investigating a grass fire at Sydney Olympic Park overnight.

Emergency services were called to Margory Jackson Parkway about 11.30pm (Sunday 5 January 2020), and found an area near a car park well alight.

A crew from Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze but not before it burnt out a grassed area.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and canvassed the area.

Some fireworks were found at the scene and have been taken for forensic examination.

The exact cause of the blaze is still to be determined; however, investigators are appealing for anyone with information or vision about the blaze to contact Auburn Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
