Intercultural support now available at Hub

Intercultural support and information centre The Hub was last week officially opened by Cardinia Shire Council at Living Learning Pakenham.

The centre was officially opened by Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Graeme Moore, who was joined by fellow shire councillors, Living and Learning Pakenham board members, service providers and community members.

Cr Moore said the new facility creates a central hub for Cardinia Shire's culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community, as well as the broader community, to seek assistance and information.

"The Hub has created a unique and dedicated space in the shire for intercultural development, dialogue and engagement.

"Council believes that all our residents, no matter their background, should feel valued, included, and respected. They should also be able to easily access the range of services, programs and facilities we offer through centres such as The Hub," Cr Moore said.

Located within Pakenham's Living Learning Centre, The Hub has been designed as an intercultural support and information centre for the community to seek assistance from a broad range of organisations.

Services offered from The Hub are available to all community members and include family support services, financial counselling, housing and tenancy support, settlement services, employment pathways, legal aid, and cultural support programs.
