On a sunny Friday, March 8, nearly 250 attendees from all over the community gathered at Silverwater Resort, San Remo, to mark International Women's Day, a day of celebration that has been uplifting women's achievements since in the world since 1911. This year, under the theme of Inspire Inclusion, the event particularly celebrated the pivotal roles women play in both professional and community sports.
From the onset, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and community. Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor Cr Clare Le Serve, who has served as Councillor for an impressive ten years, opened the event. The day's MC, Debra Holder, brought a unique perspective with her diverse background in sex education and human rights, setting a tone of empowerment and inclusivity.
