Investigation commenced after robberies on metro - Hills

Detectives from The Hills Police Area Command have commenced an investigation following two separate robberies on metro trains yesterday.

About 2.45pm (Thursday 24 December 2020), a 15-year-old boy caught a train from Castle Hill, getting off at Norwest.

As he left the station, the teen was approached by a group of up to ten males – described as being 15 and 16-years-old. He ran off and hid under a vehicle, before being found by the group and repeatedly punched and kicked.

The group fled, after stealing cash and the teen's 'Nike' shoes. He suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.

In a second incident, a 54-year-old man was on board a train approaching Bella Vista Station about 7.35pm, when he was approached by two males.

During a physical altercation, the man was repeatedly punched, and his backpack was stolen before the pair fled, getting of the train.

Both males have been described as being of African appearance. The first being about 180cm tall, with short dark hair. He was wearing a yellow and orange hi-vis long sleeve shirt, black tracksuit pants with red 'Kappa' decal on the side, brown safety boots and carrying a backpack.

The second being about 170cm tall, with short dark hear and wearing a black top.
