Mill Park Serious Crime Taskforce detectives are renewing their appeal for public assistance following an aggravated burglary in Preston last year, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told an 87-year-old woman had been leaving her Malpas Street home about 8.30am on 23 December when she was approached by a man, who produced a firearm and forced her back inside the house.
The offender also produced a knife, tied the woman up and threatened her.
He demanded her belongings before assaulting her, stuffing cash and jewellery into a supermarket bag and fleeing the scene.
The woman did not sustain physical injuries, however was left extremely shaken up.
Detectives have been told the man was wearing a black top, black pants and a black short-brimmed hat, with a jacket covering most of his face.
He is believed to be aged in his early 30s and about 175cm tall with a thin build.
Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
