Investigation into Preston aggravated burglary continues

Mill Park Serious Crime Taskforce detectives are renewing their appeal for public assistance following an aggravated burglary in Preston last year, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told an 87-year-old woman had been leaving her Malpas Street home about 8.30am on 23 December when she was approached by a man, who produced a firearm and forced her back inside the house.

The offender also produced a knife, tied the woman up and threatened her.

He demanded her belongings before assaulting her, stuffing cash and jewellery into a supermarket bag and fleeing the scene.

The woman did not sustain physical injuries, however was left extremely shaken up.

Detectives have been told the man was wearing a black top, black pants and a black short-brimmed hat, with a jacket covering most of his face.

He is believed to be aged in his early 30s and about 175cm tall with a thin build.

Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
