Investigation underway into fatal crash at Lilyvale

An investigation is underway following a fatal single-vehicle crash in the Royal National Park today.

About 1.45pm (Saturday 25 April 2020), emergency services were called to Lady Wakehurst Drive at Lilyvale, following reports a car had crashed into a tree.

On arrival, officers from Wollongong Police District located a male passenger, believed to be aged in his late teens, deceased. He has not been formally identified.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to St George Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established with officers from the Crash Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
