Investigation underway into reported carjacking, fire - Greenacre

Police are investigating a reported carjacking and fire in Greenacre this morning.

Just after 3am (Friday 26 April 2019), emergency services were called to Beresford Avenue, Greenacre, after reports of an assault.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and located two injured men, who told police they were carjacked by a group of men while driving along Rosedale Avenue; who then assaulted them with metal poles.

Police located the burnt out car, a short distance away on Rosedale Avenue.

Two men – aged 32 and 36 – were taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment to non life-threatening injuries.

Three crime scenes have been established, two on Beresford Avenue and one on Rosedale Avenue; inquiries into the incident continue.

No arrests have been made at this time.
