Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to investigate following the death of man in Cranbourne last night.
Emergency services were called to Lecky Street about 8pm after reports of gunshots being heard.
Police attended and located a 43-year-old Cranbourne man deceased in the street.
A 49-year-old Cranbourne man has been interviewed by police and released pending further enquiries.
At this early stage the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established however it does not appear to be linked to other recent shootings.
