Community organisations across Queensland will deliver a range of programs to support women and girls, with twenty-four initiatives set to share in more than $250,000 of funding in the latest round of the Investing in Queensland Women (IQW) grant program.
Grants of up to $15,000 are being provided to successful organisations to deliver the initiatives aimed at empowering and supporting women and girls.
A program to support young women into careers in the construction industry, support and advice for renters from culturally and linguistically diverse communities experiencing domestic and family violence, and a workshop on healthy eating and body image for girls are some of the initiatives being funded in this round.
The community organisations receiving grants are spread across Queensland from the south-east to the state's far north.
The grant program was open to community groups and organisations across Queensland's urban, rural and remote regions to fund projects and events designed to create positive change for women and girls.
The Investing in Queensland Women grant program has seen over 140 community driven initiatives funded and over $1.25 million invested across the five IQW grant rounds to date.
