On 30 November the Italian G20 Presidency comes to an end. The baton will be picked up by Indonesia, which next year will lead the multilateral forum of the world's major economies.
The three priorities chosen by the Italian government – People, Planet and Prosperity – were the framework of twelve months of intense negotiations that led to the Leaders' Summit, held in Rome on 30-31 October, and to the adoption of the Final Declaration.
Since 1 December 2020, when Italy took over the G20 Presidency for the first time in its history, there have been 175 events, 20 ministerial meetings in various cities, 2 special meetings of G20 Leaders on Global Health and Afghanistan, 6 Sherpas' meetings, 62 Working Groups and 60 Finance Track meetings, as well as various initiatives of the 8 Engagement Groups. Over 5,000 delegates and more than 2,500 accredited media representatives attended the events. The activity of the Presidency was reported by more than 1,000 posts on the official social media channels and generated worldwide over 3.6 million online posts and articles related to the G20.
