The United States welcomes Japan's announcement that it will transfer Patriot interceptor missiles to the United States to replenish U.S. inventories. The decision will contribute to U.S. stockpiles of these critical air and missile defense articles, which will enhance stability in the Indo-Pacific region. The United States and Japan will continue to work closely together to strengthen the defense of Japan and to promote peace and prosperity.
