In a powerful testimony at the 61st Session of the UN Human Rights Council, UN Watch representative Jasem Aljuraid calls out the Iranian regime for its ongoing aggression against Gulf states, including missile and drone attacks on Kuwait and the UAE. Aljuraid also highlights the paradox of the UN appointing advisors from the aggressive IRGC regime to human rights positions and demands an end to Saudi violations in Yemen.

Mr. President,
In the midst of the war that this regime is fueling through its aggression, it continues its brutal violations against the Arab Gulf states, particularly Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, which are subjected daily to Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting their territories, infrastructure, and peaceful citizens.
Kuwait - whose name has always been associated with diplomacy, mediation, and peacemaking - and the UAE - a symbol of openness, peace, coexistence, and resistance to political Islam - are today direct targets of this Iranian aggression.
The United Arab Emirates, which seeks peace and coexistence with all, stands firm against extremist political Islam everywhere, especially in the Southern Arabian Peninsula. The UAE has not merely resisted; rather, it has provided crucial logistical and security support to Somaliland to enhance stability and maritime security in the Horn of Africa.
The United Nations is called upon today to stand with true peace, not to remain silent in the face of a regime that exports terrorism, chaos, and missiles. The mullah’s regime must be held accountable immediately, and peaceful states like Kuwait and the UAE must be supported in their legitimate defense of their sovereignty and regional stability.
I listened to the Saudi representative a moment ago; He objected and said there are no violations by the Kingdom in South Arabia (Yemen). So what will he tell us about the kidnapped Southern Arabian delegation? What about the killing of the entire Al-Amoudi family in South Arabia, and the bombing of its ally, the UAE? Was that also a non-aggression? Saudi Arabia must immediately cease these actions.
Finally, I must ask: If we in this generation now know that Iran is aggressive and guilty, why were three representatives of this aggressive regime elected by the UN?

في إطار مناقشة الفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة حول حفظ السلم والأمن الإقليمي، نواجه الحقيقة المرة: نظام الملالي في طهران هو التهديد الأكبر للاستقرار في الخليج والمنطقة بأسرها.
في خضم الحرب التي أشعلها هذا النظام بعدوانيته، يستمر في تعدياته الوحشية ضد دول الخليج العربي. بالأخص الكويت والإمارات، اللتين تتعرضان يومياً لهجمات صاروخية ومسيّرات إيرانية تستهدف أراضيهما وبنيتهما التحتية وسكانهما الآمنين.
الكويت - التي ارتبط اسمها دائماً بالدبلوماسية والوساطة وبناء السلام - والإمارات - رمز الانفتاح والسلام والتعايش ومقاومة الإسلام السياسي - هما اليوم هدف مباشر لهذا العدوان الإيراني.
الإمارات، الباحثة عن السلام والتعايش مع الجميع، بمعية إسرائيل، تقف صامدة في وجه الإسلام السياسي المتطرف في كل مكان، وخاصة في الجنوب العربي. الإمارات لم تكتفِ بالمقاومة، بل قدمت دعماً لوجستياً وأمنياً حاسماً لصوماليلاند لتعزيز الاستقرار والأمن البحري في منطقة القرن الأفريقي.
الأمم المتحدة مدعوة اليوم للوقوف مع السلام الحقيقي، لا الصمت أمام نظام يصدر الإرهاب والفوضى والصواريخ. يجب محاسبة نظام الملالي فوراً، ودعم الدول السلمية مثل الكويت والإمارات في دفاعها المشروع عن سيادتها واستقرار الإقليم.
كما يجب أن نتذكر أن السعودية قامت مؤقتاً بأعمال معادية لحقوق الإنسان من خلال قتلها وجرحها للجنوبيين وقصفها لحليفتها الوحيدة الملتزمة بالمبادئ، الإمارات، في الجنوب العربي. استمعتُ للممثل السعودي قبل قليل اعترض وقال “لم توجد تعديات في الجنوب”… فماذا سيقول لنا عن الوفد الجنوبي المختطف، وعن قتل أسرة العامودي بأكملها؟ هل كان ذلك أيضاً… “عدم تعدٍ”؟ على السعودية أن تتوقف فوراً عن هذه الأعمال.
وأخيرًا أتساءل منك سيدي الرئيس: لماذا تم اختيار ثلاثة ممثلين من هذا النظام العدواني من قِبَلكم كمستشارين مؤخرًا لشؤون تتعلق بحقوق الإنسان؟
