James Cook University has regained the Battle of the Icons Cup after defeating Army by 7 wins to 4 in the annual sporting blockbuster.
JCU won both men's and women's volleyball, women's and mixed netball, women's soccer, mixed touch football and rugby union – securing the University the Chancellor's Cup.
Army won CrossFit, men's basketball, men's soccer and rugby 7s – giving Army the Commander's Cup honours.
JCU UniLife Head of Sport, Fitness and Recreation Vincent Gardiner said it was a fantastic display from JCU's athletes.
"We had really strong teams this year and most of them have been in competition recently with the UniSport Nationals in Perth at the end of September and start of October," he said.
"It's really satisfying that JCU came out on top and had a win again after relinquishing the Battle of the Icons Cup to Army last year.
"I'm hoping this is the start of a really good few years against our old foes Army."
The MVP in the Chancellor's Cup rugby union was Orion De Howilland.
The MVP in the Commander's Cup for the rugby 7s, was Clare Lowe.
Mr Gardiner said the addition of volleyball and CrossFit this year were definite wins for the competition.
"JCU was really dominant in both men's and women's volleyball and Army won emphatically in CrossFit this year," he said.
"Both those sports added a new dimension to the competition. We'll continue to look at new ways to keep growing this including tournament and rivalry between JCU and Army."
