First Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mederbek Aliyev, met today with Ambassador Volker Frobarth, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek.
During the meeting, Aliyev emphasized the importance of the long-standing co-operation between the Jogorku Kenesh and the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek.
"The OSCE Programme Office is one of the most reliable and strategic partners of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic. We highly value the expert and technical support provided in strengthening the rule of law and advancing parliamentary democracy," he said.
Highlighting the role of parliamentary diplomacy, Aliyev underscored the importance of further developing co-operation with the OSCE and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
"As Head of the Jogorku Kenesh delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, I would like to note that regular and active participation in the Assembly's sessions remains a strategic priority for our delegation," he added.
Ambassador Frobarth, in turn, outlined the Programme Office's planned areas of work and expressed his interest in implementing joint initiatives and further strengthening co-operation with the Jogorku Kenesh.
He also highly commended the statement delivered by Aliyev at the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF 2026), held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, which reviewed progress in implementing the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
In addition, Ambassador Frobarth welcomed the establishment of the Youth Council under the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, noting that the initiative would contribute to broader youth participation in public affairs and decision-making processes.
