La Trobe earns global accreditation

La Trobe Business School has been given AACSB International accreditation, recognising its excellence in teaching, research and student learning.

This accreditation, earned by only 5 per cent of the world's schools offering business degrees at the bachelor level or higher, is a globally-recognised hallmark of high quality business schools.

Dean and Head of La Trobe Business School, Professor Jane Hamilton, welcomed the announcement from AACSB.

"La Trobe Business School is committed to education and research that is innovative, responsible, and engaged, and to have our hard work recognised by AACSB is truly rewarding," Professor Hamilton said.

"The accreditation recognises our track record of success and our ongoing dedication to education and research that's innovative, responsible and engaged.

"Students at La Trobe benefit from interactive, project-based learning environments that give them a well-rounded view of the world of business; they build the tech-clever, forward-thinking skills they need to make their mark in the future of business. Importantly, students also develop the emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to thrive in a diverse workplace.

"The administration, staff and students are extremely proud to be part of such an esteemed global community in AACSB. We look forward to working with other accredited schools to improve business education both in Australia and internationally."

Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting students, educators, and businesses worldwide. AACSB's mission is to foster engagement, accelerate innovation, and amplify impact in business education.

Executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International Stephanie M. Bryant added her congratulations to La Trobe Business School.

"AACSB accreditation recognizes institutions that have demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning," Ms Bryant said.

"We congratulate La Trobe University and Dean and Head of La Trobe Business School, Professor Jane Hamilton on earning accreditation, and applaud the entire La Trobe team-including the administration, faculty, staff, and students-for their roles in earning this respected honor.

"La Trobe University's commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of their dedication-not only to their students, alumni network, and greater business community, but to the higher education industry as a whole.

"Today's students are tomorrow's business leaders, and the addition of the La Trobe Business School to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact for their institution, both locally and globally."
