La Trobe kicks goals in QS rankings

La Trobe University has been confirmed as world-leading in the 2019 QS World University subject rankings.

For the first time, La Trobe has ranked in the world's top 50 for Sports-related subjects, placing 39th in the world and second in Victoria.

La Trobe Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar said this outstanding ranking for sport reflects La Trobe's world-leading reputation for research and teaching of sports-related subjects.

"La Trobe is proven to be a sports destination of choice for researchers, students and the wider community," Professor Dewar said.

"We attract the best talent to lead pioneering research in areas such as sports and exercise science, sport medicine, sports analytics, sports management and sports nutrition.

"Our students are attracted to our wide-ranging sports degree programs, which include internship and work placement opportunities with our high-profile partners including Melbourne City FC, Carlton Football Club and the Melbourne Rebels.

"And the icing on the cake is our brand new, $150 million Sports Park, a key component of our $5 billion University City of the Future plan.

"As the Sports Park develops over the next decade, it will offer a significant sporting hub for the community, students and staff, including exceptional research and teaching spaces for sports courses."
