Lake Alexander closed for swimming

Lake Alexander at East Point has been temporarily closed to swimmers based on the pump being out of service and resulting water quality concerns, effective immediately.

City of Darwin will continue to monitor the situation and open the lake again as soon as possible.

Further testing is taking place Tuesday 8 August.

City of Darwin is committed to maintaining the highest environmental practices to protect the community and our environment.

The public will be advised when the lake reopens, and people are asked to heed the closure signs.

City of Darwin apologises for any inconvenience.
