City of Darwin is pleased to advise that Lake Alexander at East Point Reserve has now reopened for swimming and recreational water activities.
Recent water quality testing has confirmed that bacteria levels have returned to safe levels following earlier impacts from heavy rainfall and runoff.
As part of ongoing Cyclone Fina recovery, East Point Reserve has now reopened, with conditions safe for visitors to return and enjoy the area.
City of Darwin remains committed to maintaining high environmental standards to protect both the community and the natural environment.
The Mangrove Boardwalk at East Point Reserve remains closed until further notice after a tree recently dislodged during recent tidal conditions caused damage to handrails and decking, and the public is urged to stay clear while crews assess the site.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation during the temporary closures.
