Stallholders and exhibitors have one last chance to register for one of Townsville's biggest community events.
Eco Fiesta will return to Anderson Gardens on Sunday 7 June 2026, giving thousands of expected visitors the chance to explore practical ways to live more sustainably and embrace an eco-friendly lifestyle. Stallholder applications are open until 5pm on Monday 4 May 2026.
Billabong Sanctuary general manager Cameron Griffiths said the event was the perfect place to share his team's passion for wildlife, conservation and education.
"We love being part of Eco Fiesta each year — it brings together like-minded organisations and families, all with a shared interest in protecting our environment and celebrating what makes our region unique," Mr Griffiths said.
"Events like Eco Fiesta play an important role in raising awareness around sustainability and conservation, and we're proud to be involved in inspiring the next generation to care for our native wildlife."
The wildlife sanctuary's senior ranger Bas Lloyd-How said he had an "absolutely wonderful time" at Eco Fiesta in 2024.
"It was an incredible opportunity to gather with such a strong community of like-minded business. Having the chance to meet with the public and engage with them on matters of conservation and environmentalism was the highlight by far, and seeing families of all walks of life showing such an interest in a sustainability is what I'm most excited about this year," he said.
"For us at Billabong Sanctuary, wildlife conservation is the heart of what we do. It was uplifting to see that message reflected in the community."
Tangaroa Blue Foundation senior operations coordinator Ebony Bail said her team was excited to host a stall at Eco Fiesta again this year.
"Eco Fiesta is a fantastic opportunity to connect with the local community and celebrate the natural environment. It presents an opportunity to highlight the tangible, everyday steps we can all take to reduce our footprint, become more sustainable and protect our oceans," she said.
"For Tangaroa Blue Foundation, it is a chance to share the work we are doing throughout Australia to prevent and remove marine debris from the environment."
Mayor Nick Dametto said this year's event would have a special focus on native bird species.
"Townsville is home to hundreds of native birds, which all play an important part in keeping our local environment thriving," Cr Dametto said.
"In years past the event has drawn in thousands of attendees who have made the most of learning about our local ecology, grabbing a delicious bite to eat and enjoying the free entertainment.
"This year's Eco Fiesta is bound to be another huge success and I can't wait to get down there to enjoy it with the community."
Council premiered Eco Fiesta in 1992 and now runs the event biennially at Anderson Gardens.
Eco Fiesta 2026 will run from 9am to 3pm on Sunday 7 June 2026.
Exhibitors and stallholders can apply to take part now by visiting Council's website. Applications close at 5pm on Monday 4 May 2026.
